@ Brookside . . . Week of February 20th

February is Black History Month. If you’d like to enhance your skills in discussing race, you are invited to join The Mendhams Diversity Committee in reading "So You Want To Talk About Race" by Ijeoma Oluo. Copies are available through local booksellers, online, and through the our local libraries (including ebook and audio recordings). Register in advance for this conversation:

https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZctdu-qrDwrEtfztivKJz9ALroEeFTXmc0g

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing the link and additional information on joining the conversation.

Our new video capture system is simple to use, but we still need people to run it. Can you press buttons? Would you enjoy playing with the (optional) joystick? This is a great opportunity someone needing volunteer hours for school, or who is curious about video production, or who likes to sit in the balcony at church. Please contact pastornicolette@gmail.com for more information or to be added to the schedule.

Join our ECUMENICAL Bible study with Grace Lutheran Church on Tuesdays from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. in person and online. Each week stands alone but fits into an overall theme. Our next focus will be: "God Frees and Redeems". We will study individual lessons with texts taken from Deuteronomy, Ezra, Matthew, John, Romans and Galatians. Extra participant books have been ordered so if you have not RSVP’d, it’s not too late to do so! Additional information is available by emailing the present teacher, Susan Pilshaw, at susan.pilshaw@verizon.net. If you are interested in joining us, please include, name, email, phone and mailing address to receive the study book. Peace, Susan Pilshaw

Those grieving the death of Lois M.

For those impacted by Covid

The prayers shared aloud on Sunday morning*

The lonely, the isolated, the anxious, the fearful

The sick, the dying, the grieving

Students, teachers, administrators

All those facing devastating losses from tornadoes, wildfires, and earthquakes

The people of Afghanistan, the Ukraine, and all who live in places of uncertainty and violence

Our leaders, our communities, our nation
