Faith leaders in Chester, Mendham and Long Valley will hold a vigil at the Chester Gazebo to mark the International Day of Peace on Sep. 21. The service will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Gazebo* on Main St. at Collis Lane in downtown Chester. The interfaith vigil will include prayers, a moment of silence, music and remarks by faith leaders.
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed throughout the world on September 21. In 1981, the United Nations General Assembly declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

Give via Charitable IRA Rollover
The IRA charitable rollover allows individuals over 70 1/2 years of age to make certain charitable contributions directly from your Individual Retirement Account. The transferred assets will not be recognized as income for tax purposes. Making a donation under this provision is simple and straightforward. If you would like to make a contribution to Brookside from your IRA, please speak with your IRA administrator.
