@ Brookside . . . Week of September 18th

Faith leaders in Chester, Mendham and Long Valley/Washington Township will hold a vigil at the Chester Gazebo to mark the International Day of Peace on Sep. 21. The interfaith vigil will include prayers, a moment of silence, music and remarks by local leaders.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed throughout the world on September 21. In 1981, the United Nations General Assembly declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

We believe healthy communities start with healthy people forming strong relationships, which is why we are collaborating to host a day-long Wellness Fair. We have lined up a series of workshops on everything from yoga to soundbaths and local vendors and non-profits who are focused on various aspects of holistic health related goods and services, an area for children featuring author talks and age-appropriate programming, and a silent auction. Invite others here: https://fb.me/e/1VRxRVTP3

In our Hearts, In our Prayers:

The prayers shared aloud on Sunday morning*

Those who grieve

Those who feel broken in body, mind, or spirit

Those who are recovering from surgery or illness

The lonely, the isolated, the anxious

The people of Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, and all who live in places of transition or war

Our leaders, our communities, our nation
