@ Brookside . . . Wednesday August 23rd

WORSHIP & EVENTS

This Sunday we’re at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 10am - Their livestream is available here: https://www.facebook.com/saintmarksmendham

This has been a wonderfully meaningful and unique opportunity to worship on a Sunday morning as a BCC group with other faith communities in town. Together, we reflect on how different orders of worship create emphasis on different parts of the service, how different room arrangements and artwork impact worship, and better understand and appreciate the choices that we make in how we worship at Brookside.

Pastor Nicolette is on vacation until August 31st. Administrative coverage will be provided by Jessie in the office, and Pastoral Care coverage will be provided by Rev. Lorna Erixson of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

8/30 Music Trivia Fellowship Night with Amy: Join Amy Southerland in a fun-filled night of games – all about music! It’ll only be as fun as the people who are here and everyone is welcome! Can you guess the TV theme song faster than the person sitting next to you? Complete this lyric: ”You ain’t nothing but a hound dog, ______ _____ ____ _____!” We will play in Scialla Hall on Wednesday, August 30th starting at 7 pm. Snacks and beverages will be served.  Please click here to RSVP

We are seeking a Director of Children's and Family Programming to nurture the faith development of children and families through educational, missional, and fellowship-oriented programming. We are seeking someone who will help us to build a new program-based ministry that is responsive to the needs, availability, and interests of our stakeholders. The word “program” is intentionally broad so that the Director, in consultation stakeholders, may create and implement a wide range of programming, but whenever possible should not compete with Sunday morning worship.

The ideal candidate will have a background in education, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently without extensive supervision, be familiar with or willing to learn about the values of Brookside Community Church UCC, communicate effectively through a variety of media, and have a genuine interest in nurturing children’s spiritual growth. Knowledge of community organizing is a plus. Music skills are a plus.

The position is part time, averaging 20 hours per week. Click here for more information
